TankExpo 2017 held at The Tank Museum, at Bovington in Dorset certainly proved to be a large and successful addition to the modelling calendar.
The Earley Risers were out in force - no less than 10 members, (Liz & Steve, Jeff and Geoff, Mark, Big Mick, Tim and Tom, Sean and Rolly) supported the club with a variety of models. For more details, click here
April 8 - Hugh and Steve are winners at Poole
Poole Vikings show Parkstone Grammar School, Poole, Dorset
Hugh, Liz and Steve arrived early to set up the stand, closely followed by Geoff, then Mark and Les completed the group. The stand generated a lot of interest, quite a lot of the day was spent in friendly conversation with members of the public, other clubs and traders. Mark, Les and Steve all purchased examples of the new Wingnuts Camels - will they ever be built? For more, click here
April 28 - Hugh triumphs again in Milton Keynes!
ModelKraft - IPMS Milton Keynes model show Stantonbury Leisure Centre, MK14 6BN
Hugh won Best in Show with his FE8 and his Stinson Reliant came along second - winning the Silver in the same class! Steve's 4-4-0 Lucifer loco also gained a Gold medal.

May 13 IPMS AGM Mark is re-elected at National Treasurer.
JJiJuly 9 - Quiet day at the Helicopter Museum
(Sunday) IPMS North Somerset show at The Helicopter Museum.
Weston-super-MareLiz & Steve joined Big Mick and Jeff at the Helicopter Museum at Weston super Mare.
The tables were soon set up in an 'L-shape', tucked in a corner opposite a Queen's Flight Wessex.

Jeff, Liz and Steve were soon joined by Les B and Roly. The stand was quickly put up in the middle of the Boscombe Down Aviation Collection's hangar, in front of a Sea Harrier FRS 2.

JJiAugust 13 - Success at Thornbury
We had a good turnout to the show. Not only Mark, Jeff and Geoff, but also Liz & Steve, Hugh, Big Mick and Les B put models on the stand. (Although Les B, dressed in his ER top, spent most of his time with George, on the IPMS Wallingford stand.)

September 16 (Saturday) - an early start at Farnborough.
IPMS Farnborough's ModelFest is a popular show, being fairly local and with a variety of model stands & traders. The mobile canteen outside, serving good food and drinks, did a roaring trade!
September 30 (Saturday) - Sparkling Performance at Abingdon!
Not only did Liz, Hugh and Steve win Gold Awards for their models, but Hugh's model - his Fe-8 - went on to be voted Best in Show! Steve also went on to win 2 Silvers, a Bronze and a Commended.

JJiNovember 26 - Season ends at Nailsea
Liz, Mick and Steve ended the 2017 season at the BMSS show, held at Nailsea School in Somerset.
