Temperatures rise at Thornbury!

After travelling down the M4 to Avon's show on a cold, misty and drizzling morning, Liz, Jeff and Steve started to unload. They were soon joined by Geoff and Big Mick. Les and Mark along with Roly completed the line up. Les took his big truck and put it on the Wallingford stand - where he spent the rest of the day!

IPMS Avon's expanded annual show covers three large halls filled to the brim with traders, model club displays and wargaming tables. The competition area, formally squeezed into half of a small upstairs room, now takes up almost half of the third hall.

Things got quite heated at the competition tables

Temperatures rose when one of the competition tables collapsed - some say it was the weight of the 3 dioramas perched on top!

Fortunately, no Earley Risers entries were involved! Big Mick came away with a 2nd place for his Knight bust, while Steve gained 3rd places for his Skaven Doomwheel and Stephenson's Rocket.
