Earley Risers beat, or at least survive, the weather!

On the weekend of 19thand 20thFeb a hardy band of Earley Risers braved the storms to attend the South West model show at Bovington tank museum. Jeff travelled down on Friday dodging fallen trees, to set up. Jeff and Sean then manned the stand for the weekend joined by Tim on Saturday and Rolly on Sunday.

We were setup in front of the Chieftain in the Tank story hall, about the best place for an AFV modeller to work in the world!

On a weekend of extreme weather, the museum had over 4000 visitors making it Bovi’s most successful model show to date. It was certainly busy, particularly on Saturday with a diverse range of visitors ranging from soldiers, through families to modellers and we had lots of interest on the stand.

The number of traders attending were down a little, especially as Mr Models did not make it as their van was blown over on the way to the show! But the ones that were there were very busy.

All in all, a fun weekend and a great start to the modelling year.
