On a hot July Sunday for the North Somerset Model Show at the Helicopter Museum Dave R, Nigel, Jeff, Peter and Ian manned the Earley Risers stand with an interesting mix of models on display. Steve and Liz were also at the show however on this occasion were helping to man the BDAC stand which initially confused the gate people who were trying to allocate wristbands by club.
Our stand attracted favourable attention from members of the public and also from members of other model clubs with many discussions taking place throughout the day.
During the day, models on all stands were secretly judged by North Somerset members.
Those of note were awarded various plaques.
The Earley Risers did particularly well;
Dave R received a medal of ‘Best Hot Rod/Mod Car’ for his Chevrolet
Nigel received a medal of ‘Best Military Not a Tank’ for for his 1/18 scale 88 mm gun
and a medal of ‘Best What If Model’ for his Suborbital German Bomber.
Dave supplied all of us with pieces from his delicious 70th Birthday cake!
The show also included a number of the regular traders so we could purchase additional supplies and model kits.
