Yes, Earley Risers were up and at them on Saturday, with Jeff and Nige stacked at the gate before 07:30.

That gave us a priority unloading spot next to the usual exhibition room. which made unloading much easier.

Peter arrived later, and we completed the set up with space allocated for Tim L’s models, but by 9:15 we filled those spaces as it was apparent he was not attending. Geoff and Mick attended with Churchill SIG.

As it’s REME we tried to make the display focus on AFVs with some Air and Civilian features around the L-shaped layout allocated. Our wooden risers were used on the long side of the' L' to lead visitors into the display.

One particular highlight was a family group where the father was obviously delighted to see a model of the Sea Dart, as a former weapons test technician for that system, he shared some very interesting insights on that and the Sea Slug system as well.

Another first for the show was The Nige becoming Dave R ‘s personal shopper, via What’s App, for his silver foil, - so we expect that something shiny is in prospect.

Overall the show was quieter than last year with less than 400 visitors on the day, but that didn’t reduce the interest and interactions we experienced. Given the footfall, the organisers requested a 15:30 dismantling to enable them to close up at 16:30.

Model’s For Sale were absent due to Vince’s recent foot injury - we're all hoping he has a speedy recovery.
