Our First Time at Romsey

Phil, Peter, Ian and Nige all had a smooth journey down to Romsey. Phil and Nige enjoyed lots of club interactions in the car pack as they waited for the caretaker to open the Hall around 08:20.

The show was split into two halls; The Earley Risers had one of the prime spots with excellent natural light from the roof and air conditioning, perfect!

The stand was set up with Ian’s cars on the black cloths as the centrepiece, with a sci-fi and What If theme above.

Phil’s aircraft and figure were to the left, with Peter and Nige’s models on the right.

There was a lot of interest from the public across the stand for most of the day.

The hosts, Romsey ran a Best in Show award for all attending clubs, from all the tables, which added an extra dimension to the day. All attending ERs liked the look of the display enough not to dismantle anything for the Competition, so Phil’s Puppet Master was the only Earley Risers entry for which he picked up Highly Commended award.

Overall, it was a really compact and friendly show ERs will definitely apply for 2026 -  it will be two weeks later on 19th July
